18th September 2004

1st October 2004

I'm back in broome, did i ever mention how much i love Broome? Went camping in the Kimberleys, it was amazing. when I say camping, it was too hot to stay in a tent. I'm not sure if you're familiar with swags, swags are canvas, foam and mosquito net sleeping bags which you tie to a tree to keep the top raised. Handy, they take seconds to set up, but are some what scary when you wake up in the middle of the night to find a huge white indian cow with horns grazing next to you.

My 4 day trip up the Gibb River included... kangaroos, fresh water turtules, wallabies, tree snakes, crocodiles, fruit bats, bush fires, spiders, caves, gorges, lizards, bungarrows, parrots, cockatoos, willy willy tornados, 47 degrees in the shade and other things that I couldn't get pictures of. for all the pictures id did get see my photography site

Bungarrow sunbathing at Bell Gorge

hello. likes lamb chops.

Jayne, Fenn and i, Manning Gorge, Gibb River Road, The Kimberleys, North West Western Australia.

This is a willy willy, a mini torando caused by the heat. That day there was not even a breeze, then in a lengthy second it appeared infront of me, reached 30ft into the air, made a sort of mini torando noise, traveled 20ft in 10 seconds and disapeared. By chance i was photographing something else at the time.

22nd November 2004

Not much to report. i live in broome. i move out on the 28th.. wet season is nearly here, warm water flows from the cold taps, you risk hospital should you turn on the hot taps! each day is hotter 36+ and more humid, but this only seems to make people happier. the tourists leave and there is an addictive sense of community. even though it takes 8 years before you cn call your self a local.

Sunset on Cable Beach, avec booze.

About my travel log:
I'm making this for a number of reasons, firstly i'm writing to my family and friends without the inconvenience of mile long group emails. secondly it's my unloseable diary. err... and i guess it's here for the world to read too.

You can click on all of the pictures for a huge 800x600 version!

Thats right! Why not have a picture of something you haven't done or somewhere you haven't been as your desktop picture at work !
